In an attempt to smuggle marijuana and tobacco into the jail, a Bi-State jailer has been arrested.

On Tuesday, Texas’s Bowie County Capt. Robby McCarver responded to Texarkana Texas Police Officer Colton Johnson’s call on a case in which a jailer with the last name of Coulter was possibly bringing contraband into the jail.

In order to catch Coulter red-handed, McCarver did some check with the jail staff and found that Jailer Brandy Denise Coulter was due to be at work the following morning. When she arrived at work on Wednesday, she was confronted and searched for contraband.

The search showed marijuana and tobacco were hidden inside the rear crotch area of a pair of leggings she was wearing under her uniform.

Coulter was arrested for possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility and booked into the jail. She declined to cooperate with the investigation.

Coulter’s bond has been set at $75,000.
