A viral video of Baltimore Democratic Mayor Catherine Pugh complaining about rats and dead animals last year has resurfaced as Democrats and some media try to label President Donald Trump’s tweets about Rep. Elijah Cummings’s district as racist.
Steve Guest, GOP rapid response director, has shared a news report by Fox 45 in September 2018, in which Mayor Pugh was found making some indelicate remarks about the poor conditions in part of Baltimore.

“What the hell? We should just take all this shit down,” Pugh said while she was touring an area of vacant houses with city leaders, the footage shows.
“Whoa, you can smell the rats.”
“Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”
The remarks were made while the mayor was supposed to be highlighting her violence-reduction initiative during a visit to an East Baltimore neighborhood.
The video re-emerged after Democrats and some media sought to attach the “racist” label to President Trump’s tweets after the president criticized Cummings for his badly run Baltimore district, which is far worse and more dangerous than the southern border.
In his tweets, President Trump described “Cummings District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess”, but he mentioned nothing related to racist.
