University Park police responded to a robbery at CVS in Dallas on Saturday morning, Nov. 2, at around 6:40 a.m.

The masked suspect entered the store and demanded money, police said. One employee was shot twice. She was approximately 8 months pregnant, according to authorities.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and taken into surgery immediately. Her baby was later delivered. Police said the woman and newborn are in critical but stable condition.

There was another employee in the store when the robbery happened who was not injured.

University Park police said the suspect fled from the store on foot and did not take any money. The suspect is a male and about 6 feet tall. He was wearing heavy dark winter clothing.
