Arizona State Senate President Karen Fann confirmed on Tuesday, July 13, what had already been anticipated about the audit in Maricopa County, Arizona, regarding discrepancies between the total number of votes and the number recorded by the county.
“They haven’t released a number yet, if you will, however we do know that those numbers do not match with Maricopa County at this point,” Fann said in an interview with KTAR-FM, a popular radio station in the state.
The audit of the physical ballots began in April and was completed in June, with only the final report expected by officials to come in late July or early August.
In the meantime, many Americans are eager to know the results of the exhaustive investigation requested by the Arizona state Senate, and endorsed by a judge, despite incessant attempts by Democrats to stop it.
Fann said the approximately 2.1 million ballots are being counted by “independent machines” before the Senate returns them to Maricopa County custody.
“We are finishing up—the vendor is finishing up what we call the aggregation: double-checking the spreadsheets against the blue tally sheets, against the scans they did on the ballots,” said the republican senator.
Fann said she had the utmost confidence in the contractors who conducted the audit, including Cyber Ninjas, a Florida-based cybersecurity firm.
“And I’m confident because it’s not just them,” she said. “Everybody keeps just counting on them when actually they are working with a number of other contractors that have experience in audits and in their expertise in their own fields. … This is a joint effort.”
“This is the first time in the history of our nation that anybody has done an audit of this magnitude. And so, quite honestly, we are doing a lot of things, triple-checking, just to make sure that this is all correct,” she added.
Fann said the goal of the audit—in which volunteers also participated—is to restore faith in the electoral system.
This audit—conducted in Arizona’s largest county—prompted other states to consider initiating a similar process, especially in those states where the margin between Biden and Trump was very close and questionable, such as Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
On July 14, former President Trump addressed the latest developments coming out of Georgia regarding the election results.
“The news coming out of Georgia is beyond incredible. The hand recount in Fulton County was a total fraud! They stuffed the ballot box—and got caught. We will lose our Country if this is allowed to stand” Trump said in the statement.
“According to the just-released report from Garland Favorito and the highly respected Voter GA, in Fulton County the hand recount was wrong by 60%; 100,000 tally sheets for ballots were missing; they duplicated thousands of extra votes for Joe Biden; and fabricated vote counts of 100–0 for Biden, many times!” he added.
“Ballot batch sheets fraudulently showed multiple unanimous 100–0 counts for Biden, as well as 150–0, and 200–0. Are we now in a Third World country? What else will they find once the full Forensic Audit takes place?” he asked.
“This is corruption at the highest level. Our Nation is at stake!” he said.
In his statement, the former president refers to a report filed by the Georgia Citizens for Election Integrity coalition VoterGA, which said in a press release Tuesday, July 13, that it determined the audit of Fulton County’s manual recount of the Nov. 3, 2020 election was riddled with “massive errors and demonstrable fraud.”
The group says the claims are based on a VoterGA data team’s analysis of images of Fulton’s vote-by-mail ballots.
Those images were made public after the petitioners won a court order last April 13.
