Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, an antifa supporter who was said to be a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Patriot Prayer supporter in Portland, Oregon, last month was reportedly killed Thursday, Sept. 3, by police.
Reinoehl “was killed during the encounter in Lacey, Wash., southwest of Seattle, when a federal fugitive task force moved to apprehend him,” according to The New York Times.
Portland police had issued an arrest warrant for Reinoehl earlier on Thursday as part of their investigation into the Aug. 29 fatal shooting of Aaron “Jay” Danielson, on the same day. Reinoehl appeared to admit to the shooting in an interview with Vice News.
“I mean, I, I had a choice. I could have sat there and watched them kill a friend of mine of color, but I wasn’t going to do that,” Reinoehl said. “I realized what had happened. I was confident that I did not hit anyone innocent. And I made my exit.”
Reinoehl was shot by law enforcement after pulling a gun on the officers during the arrest, The Associated Press reported.
Reinoehl described himself as being “100% ANTIFA all the way!,” saying, “Every Revolution needs people that are willing and ready to fight.”
“There are so many of us protesters that are just protesting without a clue of where that will lead. That’s just the beginning that’s that where the fight starts. If that’s as far as you can take it thank you for your participation but please stand aside and support the ones that are willing to fight. I am 100 % ANTIFA all the way! I am willing to fight for my brothers and sisters! … Today’s protesters and antifa are my brothers in arms,” Reinoehl wrote.

Reinoehl’s sister, April Reinoehl, reported him to local police after recognizing him in video and photos following the shooting. She told The Daily Mail that her brother has been estranged from the family for years after he allegedly stole medication from their mother who has dementia. She described Reinoehl as “a jerk” who was “verbally cruel sometimes when he’s not getting his way.”
As Thursday night’s Times’s report was published, President Donald Trump tweeted out his frustration that police hadn’t yet made an arrest in the death of Danielson.
“Why aren’t the Portland Police ARRESTING the cold-blooded killer of Aaron ‘Jay’ Danielson. Do your job, and do it fast. Everybody knows who this thug is. No wonder Portland is going to hell! @TheJusticeDept @FBI”
