Police are searching for a 6-year-old boy and his mother after she assaulted the boy in front of his father, then drove away and sent threatening messages.

According to police, it happened around 9:25 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, when Rochelle Riley drove her son, Anthony Johnson to his father’s house, 11Alive reported.

DeKalb police said Rochelle took the boy out of the vehicle, assaulted him in the front yard in the view of the father. She then put the child back in the vehicle before driving away.

Rochelle was last seen driving a gold 2005 Ford Escape with a Georgia tag reading PXJ1478.

It is not clear the mother’s current location. Police said she sent several text messages to the father, threatening to kill the young boy and then others stating she had already killed him.

Anthony is considered endangered and missing, police said.
