Attorney General William Barr on Thursday, June 4, said that federal government has evidence that the radical left-wing antifa movements as well as other extremist groups have “hijacked” legitimate protests that broken out across the country following the death of George Floyd.

“While many have peacefully expressed their anger and grief, others have hijacked protests to engage in lawlessness—violent rioting and arson, looting of businesses and public property, assaults on law enforcement officers and innocent people, and even the murder of a federal agent,” Barr said at a news conference at the Justice Department.

“We have evidence that antifa and other similar extremist groups, as well as actors of a variety of different political persuasions, have been involved in instigating and participating in the violent activity. We are also seeing foreign actors playing all sides to exacerbate the violence,” Barr continued. “The Justice Department is also working closely with our state and local partners to address violent riots around the country. Our federal law enforcement efforts are focused on the violent instigators.”

A resolution to designate antifa as a domestic terrorist organization was introduced in the Senate in 2019 by Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) in response to threats and actions antifa-affiliated individuals made against ICE officials and journalist Andy Ngo.

Project Veritas, a group working to investigate and expose corruption and injustice, on Thursday released exclusive footage showing the recruitment process at antifa and how its members are trained.

“They do not hesitate to either push back or incite some kind of violence. In our classes and in our meetings before we do any sort of demonstration or black block, we talk about weapons detail and what we carry and what we should have,” said Project Veritas’s undercover reporter, who added that “black blocking” is “a tactic in which individuals conceal their identity to look uniform so that no one can be identified in an act of a crime.”

“This is organized terrorism,” Andy Ngo tweeted out.

President Donald Trump has announced that the government will designate the far-left group antifa as a terrorist organization.

A newly released  Rasmussen Reports survey showed that 49% of U.S. voters think the antifa movement, which is thought to be behind much of the violence in several cities should be designated a terrorist organization.
