A New Yorker was arrested for pretending to be a law enforcement officer.

Hicksville resident Valiery Portluck was caught impersonating a police officer, after pulling over a vehicle filled with real cops.

The 25 year-old spent the fateful day, driving his black car with emergency lights fitted. One of his targets was a white van. When he approached the stationary vehicle, he was shocked to find it full of detectives.

The Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) officers immediately recognized the fake policeman, because they were already searching for him.

Realizing his mistake, the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle instead of surrendering. NCPD finally caught up to him on the Long Island Expressway.

Valiery was detained and charged with first-degree criminal impersonation, second-degree reckless endangerment, and unlawful fleeing from a police officer according to Shareably.

One of the suspect’s neighbors claimed he saw the young man spend a lot of time in his car, turning on blue and red flashing lights multiple times.

Valiery is not the first person to be charged with impersonating a cop according to the publication.
