A talented 9-year-old girl from Macomb County decided to make her passion for making Barbie dolls clothing into a business and her designs got a big name company’s attention.

Nevaeh Woods began making doll clothes out of whatever things she was able to get her hands on and now the Barbie Mattel team noticed her creations.

“When I grow up, I want to be a fashion designer,” Neveah said.

She’s a fashion designer already, in a way. She makes clothes out of everyday items such as fabric, shoes, and scissors for her Barbie dolls.

Her mother, Sha’kvia Woods, watches her daughter and supports her, but she was taken by surprise.

“I just took pictures of them, so I was really amazed,” Woods said. “I shared it to Facebook and then I got a lot of my friends say make this public and when I made it public it just went viral.”

Her designs caught Mattel’s attention, Barbie’s maker.

Barbie sent them an amazing box, inside it was plenty of new Barbies to style.

Now Nevaeh has started her own business, SaSha Sew Amazing, and she wants to encourage other girls to follow their dreams.
