A nine-year-old girl’s drawing may help authorities in Utah crack a package theft case.

The Springville Police Department wrote in a Sunday post on their Facebook page that, while officers were investigating a case regarding package thefts in Utah, one of the officers found a little girl who witnessed a suspect vehicle.

Cpl. Kyle Curtis asked the girl to sketch the vehicle she saw. With stellar drawing skills and a surefire memory, she produced a “very well drawn” picture.

The girl’s drawing – relatively detailed for a nine-year-old – was a red pickup truck, complete with the grey coloring to illustrate dents found on the side and a rack in the truck’s rear.

Officers were able to find the truck in a surveillance video obtained from near the scene of the crime that nearly matches her drawing.

“Here at SVPD we leave no stone unturned when it comes to investigating misdeeds in Springville City,” police wrote.

Police said that a man and woman were spotted in the vehicle following a mail truck around.

Their investigation is still ongoing.
