More than 700 people are under public health supervision for coronavirus in the state of Washington, according to the Washington State Department of Health.

While there has only been one confirmed case of coronavirus in Washington state, there are 712 people who are under supervision for the illness, according to the department. That number includes people who are close to others that have confirmed laboratory cases of coronavirus and people who have returned from China in the past 14 days.

These people are being monitored under the supervision of public health officials.

The viral outbreak that emerged in China, now officially known as COVID-19, has infected more than 69,000 people around the world. The United States has 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
