A young girl was struck by a car after she got off a school bus in Springfield Township, Delaware County, police said.

It happened at around 3:39 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 16.

The 7-year-old child was identified by family members as Jayzlin Yeboah. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene. It is unclear if the driver is facing any charges.

Jazlin is in the second grade at Sabold Elementary School, according to family members.

The Springfield School District released the following statement on the crash.

“The Springfield School District is aware of a car accident that occurred on Woodland Avenue this afternoon involving a student from Sabold Elementary School. We have been in touch with family, and obviously, our hearts and prayers are with them.”

The investigation is still ongoing.
