Two more Kansas teenagers have been arrested in connection with an attack caught on camera that resulted in a 15-year-old girl suffering serious injuries.

Wichita police said on Friday afternoon, Oct. 25, that two girls, ages 15 and 16, face charges of aggravated battery stemming from the video on social media. Previously, police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Thursday night, Oct. 24. He was booked into juvenile detention on the same charge.

The police department learned about the incident on Thursday evening through a social media video of the 16-year-old boy punching the 15-year-old girl in the face, causing serious injuries. The video also showed two other girls involved in the physical disturbance.

The victim suffered a broken nose and two broken teeth.

Officer Charley Davidson thanked those who alerted police to the video and also urged parents to talk to their children about cyberbullying and social media safety, according to KAKE.

“One of the greatest gifts you can give your kids is time,” he said. “Take that time to sit down with them. Invest in their lives, not only personally but also their social media lives. Kids live in social media worlds these days.”

Some local students said whatever this issue, it wasn’t handled the right way.

The investigation is ongoing and the case will be presented to the district attorney’s office.
