Rain and wind are not the only things that Hurricane Dorian is pushing onto Florida’s shores.
As the storm started crawling along the east coast of the state on Tuesday, Sept. 3, police said somebody found a suspicious package on a beach that turned out to be a brick of cocaine.
Police said someone approached an officer near Paradise Beach Park who said they saw a suspicious package washing up from the ocean. The policeman said the package had been “wrapped in a way that is consistent with a kilo of illegal drugs.”
The content of the package tested positive for cocaine.
Hours earlier, police said another 25 kilos of cocaine washed up about 14 miles away on Cocoa Beach.
