The sheriff says Winston had been last seen Thursday night driving a four-door Pontiac Grand Prix. On the morning of June 28, deputies found the car with the keys still in the ignition near Interstate 55 in Holmes County. Her body was found several miles away.
“Kind of like an SUV. But no one knows who was driving the SUV,” March told the station. “The cell phone was cleaned up so we’re also doing an investigation on the cellular phone, trying to find out what was erased,” the sheriff added.
Winston left to show the father of the baby a sonogram Thursday evening and never returned home, according to her family members.
Winston was due to give birth on July 4.
It is unclear how Winston died.
