A 2-year-old was found inside a car after police caught three fleeing theft suspects Wednesday, Nov. 27, in Dallas.

Carrollton police received two theft calls around noon Wednesday from Melrose Family Fashions and a Dollar General.

One officer spotted the suspects’ vehicle and tried to stop it, but they fled on I-35E into Dallas.

As other officers arrived at the retail locations to take reports, one of the stores reportedly believed the women had a child with them.

Police officers then pulled back on the pursuit just as DPS Helicopter flew in overhead to help. The helicopter tracked and reported the car had pulled over, where officers arrested Destiny Palmer and Timmiesha Jennings, both 21. The third suspect, Sharnae Harris, 26, ran but was also arrested.

After locating the car and suspects, a 2-year-old was found safe inside the vehicle. Police are attempting to find a relative to care for the child, but if not, CPS will take custody.

Carrollton police said they are thankful for the Dallas Police Department’s for assistance in the pursuit and arrest of the shoplifters.

Palmer, Harris, and Jennings have since been charged with engaging in an organized crime, child endangerment, and evading arrest.
