In a Walnut Creek supermarket, Stockton police detained two women caught on camera stealing the wallet from an elderly woman’s bag.

The suspects were recognized as Markkisha Anthnisha Mangum, 22, and Martavia Latrice Blount, 22.

Sept. 9 surveillance footage showing the two females stealing the wallet went viral.

The Walnut Creek Police Department published the footage in hopes that the public could help define the suspects.

The suspects were recognized by a number of KRON4 viewers who helped police locate them.

On Sept. 20, both suspects were booked for multiple charges at the San Joaquin County Jail, including identity theft, credit card fraud, financial elder abuse, stolen property possession, and conspiracy.

Mangum’s bail was set at $82,500, according to police, and posted bail on Saturday.

Blount has bail set at $22,500 but was also booked for an outstanding warrant for robbery with a bail of $25,000.

You are asked to call the police at (925)256-3851 if you have any information on the investigation.
