Two students from high school were hospitalized after overdosing “Vape Pens” in the last 24 hours on heroin.
Preliminary testing on one of the “Vape” solutions, according to a Morgantown Police Department press release, revealed that the product contained heroin and other drugs as well as a significant number of other chemicals.
The Morgantown Police Department is warning that these kinds of solutions are incredibly dangerous and potentially lethal from as little as one use. Anyone who has, owns, or even knows of anyone who has vape solutions that have not been purchased directly from a retail store is asked to either turn them in to the school administration, law enforcement, or throw them away.
At least one of the devices has been sold as liquid marijuana, which police said in these types of devices is also dangerous and possibly fatal when mixed with other chemicals and controlled substances.
Parents suspecting that their child has a vape pen or vaping solution are asked to throw it away or turn it in to law enforcement.
