A 14-year-old girl was shot on Friday evening, Nov. 29, in the Little Village neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side, Chicago police reported to Chicago Fox32.

According to police, the teen approached a female she agreed to meet and buy an item from her. They met  on the sidewalk at about 5:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Drake Avenue. The female pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking the girl in the chest.

The girl was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. The female suspect fled in a white sedan police said. 

Area Central detectives are investigating. No arrests have been reported at this time.
