A 13-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital after being shot in southwest Atlanta on Sunday evening, Oct. 6, police said.
Police officers responded to a person shot call at around 5:30 p.m, WAGA-TV reported.
When they got to the scene, a woman flagged an officer down and said that her daughter had a gunshot wound to her hand.
The mother told officers that the shooting originally took place at Ira Street and Fletcher Street Southwest. Two men got into an accident, which led to the fight and the exchange of gunfire, according to police.
Police officers escorted the mother and injured baby to Scottish Rite Medical Center for medical treatment. The child was stable when she arrived at the hospital, officials said.
Police are searching for the suspects, who left the scene after the shooting.
