On Wednesday, May 5, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis gave out $1,000 bonuses to first responders in the state, opposing the current left-wing endorsed defund-the-police movement—one of the primary BLM demands, the Daily Wire reported.

In front of the Satellite Beach Police Department, surrounded by first responders and law enforcement officers, DeSantis announced signing the state budget for the police force.

“I asked the legislature in this legislative session, we need to do bonuses for law enforcement. Some wanted to defund the police, we’re funding the police, and then some,” DeSantis said during the announcement.

The $1,000 one-time payment shall be granted to all law enforcement officers, paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and firefighters, who remained at their position during the test of the Covid-19 pandemic, Fox News added.

The move came during the intense push for defunding the police recently. BLM progressives kept chanting in their statewide protests in honor of the deceased black Americans who lost their lives at the hands of police officers.

Democrats strongly promoted the anti-police trend. Many of them repeated the same chorus of calling America a country of racism, including the Biden administration, encouraging actions from colored Americans to fight for their civil rights.

In April, before the conviction of Chauvin was determined, to ensure the former officer’s fate, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) went as far as saying, “we’ve got to stay in the street, and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure they know that we mean business.” The dangerous encouragement that many said should have cost her the position in Congress.

From just defunding, the Daily Wire reported that the police-hostile culture also manifested into a call for terminating the law enforcement system from social practice as far-left Democrat Rashida Tlaib cited the death of Daunte Wright, who was accidentally shot dead as he tried to break away from police arrest.

“I am done with those who condone government-funded murder. No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed,” Tlaib tweeted.
