A 10-year-old boy is dead after a single-car wreck in Macon County on Sunday morning, Sept. 29.

The accident occurred at around 9:28 a.m., according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said a man was traveling on Hawkinsville Road just before the Warner Robins city limit.  It was reported that the vehicle left the road and hit a guardrail.

The vehicle then went down an embankment and struck a tree. Police said both the driver and his son were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was transported to the Medical Center, Navicent Health for treatment, and the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of victims will be released once next of kin are notified, police said.

The accident is still under investigation.
