According to Chinese-language media Xin Tang Ren, the Covid-19 epidemic spread to 67 locations (cities and districts) throughout 23 provinces on the mainland during the time China was holding the “Two Sessions” meetings.

The cases reported were mainly of patients with mild symptoms and asymptomatic patients as well.

The number of cases in Shanghai (上海), Shandong (山東) Province, and Jilin (吉林) Province, in particular, have continued to rise dramatically.

Shandong (山東) ‘s outbreak has expanded to four cities, including Qingdao (青岛). Covid risk zones affected again the Xi’an (西安) capital, Shaanxi (陝西) province, and Lianyungang (連雲港) city, Jiangsu (江蘇) province.

According to the National Health Commission’s official website, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps detected 528 new cases of Covid-19 on March 9, and 586 new cases of asymptomatic infections.

Shanghai Municipal Health Commission on Thursday, March 10, confirmed four new cases of Covid-19 and 76 asymptomatic infections on March 9. Asymptomatic infections were detected during risk group screening, while the rest were detected in isolation and control. In closed-loop control, 42 new imported cases were detected.

The Jilin Provincial Health Commission reported 165 new cases on March 9, with 134 cases in Jilin City, 23 cases in Changchun (长春) City, 7 cases in Yanbian (延边) Prefecture, and one case in Songyuan (松原) City. Also, the city reported 179 new asymptomatic infections. A day earlier, the province said that there were 73 new cases, all of them had mild symptoms.

Shaanxi Province reported on March 8 that 11 new cases were confirmed between March 7 and March 8. Since March 5, the province has detected 17 cases, with all 17 in hospital.
