The White House on Tuesday, Dec.3, slammed the nature of the Intelligence Committee’s inquiry and described the chairman Adam Schiff(D-Calif.) as a “basement blogger” after he released the panel’s report on impeachment.

“At the end of a one-sided sham process, Chairman Schiff and the Democrats utterly failed to produce any evidence of wrongdoing by President Trump,” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement. “This report reflects nothing more than their frustrations. Chairman Schiff’s report reads like the ramblings of a basement blogger straining to prove something when there is evidence of nothing.”

The Democrat-led House Intelligence Committee late Tuesday voted to adopt and issue its 300 page report on the findings from the panel’s impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, accusing the president of abusing his official powers to “solicit foreign interference” towards the 2020 election, and of undermining national security.

“President Trump’s scheme subverted U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine and undermined our national security in favor of two politically motivated investigations that would help his presidential reelection campaign,” the Democrats’ report said, according to Fox News

Schiff claimed that the inquiry has provided “overwhelming and uncontested evidence” that President Trump pressured Ukraine’s leaders to investigate his political rival and Democrats by conditioning military aid to the country as well as a White House meeting.

The report also accused the president of obstruction by ordering witnesses not to comply with congressional subpoenas in the impeachment inquiry and of intimidating witnesses through statements he made.

Republicans released their own report, which rejected Democrat’s accusations and denied any wrongdoing by the president.

“The evidence presented does not prove any of these Democrat allegations, and none of the Democrats’ witnesses testified to having evidence of bribery, extortion, or any high crime or misdemeanor,” the GOP report said.

“Speaker Pelosi, Chairman Schiff, and House Democrats seek to impeach President Trump—not because they have proof of a high crime or misdemeanor, but because they disagreed with the President’s actions and his policies. But in our system of government, the President is accountable to the American people. The accountability to the American people comes at the ballot box, not in House Democrats’ star chamber,” it added.

Schiff’s committee held closed-door sessions and seven public hearings which featured testimony from witnesses working at National Security Council and the State Department. But non of these witnesses could provide direct knowledge regarding their accusations against the president.

“In Schiff’s 300-page report, Democrats failed to cite any specific grounds for impeaching the president,” the Breitbart News’ Joel B. Pollak wrote. “Instead of ‘Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors,’ Democrats are trying to impeach the president on the basis of tweets he posted in his own defense against their own, arguably partisan, inquisition.”

Schiff, for his part, declined to answer questions by reporters on Tuesday about whether he supports impeaching President Trump and his subsequent removal from office, saying it “needs to be a decision that we all make as a body.”

“I’m going to continue to reserve judgment,” Schiff told CNN’s Manu Raju. “I’m keenly aware of the significance of the precedent we set in whatever direction we move. I’m also very strongly guided by the fact that one of the seminal moments in this scheme took place the day after Bob Mueller testified, the day after Donald Trump thought that the last investigation was over, he began the next significant step in a new course of misconduct.”
