President Donald Trump blasted at House Democrats on Tuesday, Oct. 1, saying the ongoing impeachment inquiry against him is part of a “coup,” while House Democrats are escalating a war of words.
“As I learn more and more each day, I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP,” Trump tweeted.
The president said that the investigation into his alleged abuse of power is “intended to take away the Power of the People, their VOTE, their Freedoms, their Second Amendment, Religion, Military, Border Wall, and their God-given rights as a Citizen of The United States of America!”

The Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry after an undisclosed person filed a whistleblower complaint against Trump over his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy based on second-hand knowledge and hearsay.
If Democrats cannot name a crime that President Trump committed, it’s proof to claim the impeachment is a coup.
The president on Monday suggested House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who has been at the forefront of the impeachment inquiry, should be arrested for treason for his exaggerated description of Trump’s call with Zelenskiy.
In the meantime, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said she wants to see President Donald Trump locked up behind bars and in solitary confinement.
“I’m calling on the GOP to stop Trump’s filthy talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language implying they should be killed. Impeachment is not good enough for Trump. He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative,” Waters wrote on Twitter.
Previously, Waters criticized the use in prison of solitary confinement. She called on former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort in June 2018 to support a bill restricting the use of solitary confinement, noting that Manafort has now experienced solitary confinement himself.
Waters on Tuesday also called for Attorney General Bill Barr’s impeachment.
“AG Barr is the highest law enforcement officer & the worst. He’s supposed to be the people’s lawyer, but he’s just Trump’s puppet. He’s been caught soliciting foreign countries’ help in undermining his FBI & our Intel agencies. He should be Trump’s companion [with] impeachment,” she tweeted.
