President Trump on Monday, Sept. 16, ripped The New York Times for its controversial reporting on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and called for the resignation of The New York Times employees who were involved in Kavanaugh story.

“I call for the Resignation of everybody at The New York Times involved in the Kavanaugh SMEAR story, and while you’re at it, the Russian Witch Hunt Hoax, which is just as phony!” Trump tweeted.

“They’ve taken the Old Grey Lady and broken her down, destroyed her virtue and ruined her reputation … She can never recover, and will never return to Greatness, under current Management. The Times is DEAD, long live The New York Times!” he added.

The Times article on Sunday revealed new sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh which is based on the forthcoming book by two of the newspapers’ reporters, saying Kavanaugh exposed himself to a female student at a party at Yale.

The New York Times later revised its article against Brett Kavanaugh after being accused of leaving out key information, only hours after the Democratic candidates had used the article as a reason to instigate impeachment proceedings against him.

In its correction, the Times reported that friends of the supposed victim of sexual harassment by Kavanaugh say she does not recall the incident.

The correction has drawn widespread criticism from both conservatives and feminists.

President Trump then blasted the newspaper for assaulting Justice Kavanaugh and criticized the mainstream media outlets for working with the Democratic Party as their partner.

“The New York Times walks back report on Kavanaugh assault claim.” @foxandfriends The one who is actually being assaulted is Justice Kavanaugh – Assaulted by lies and Fake News! This is all about the LameStream Media working with their partner, the Dems,” he tweeted.

Earlier, the president told reporters on the South Lawn that the New York Times is making “another terrible mistake” and “it’s a shame that a thing like that could happen.”

President Trump also added that doing so for “a Supreme Court justice is a terrible thing.”

The president repeatedly said the New York Times was “destroying lives” and called it “fake news.”

“They have to be very embarrassed.  But much more importantly, what they do is wrong, and they do it all the time,” he concluded.

In addition, New York magazine’s Rebecca Traister, a leading voice on women’s issues, tweeted that “it’s “flabbergasting” how poorly The New York Times reported the Kavanaugh incident. “I’m sure someone at the Times still thinks that by some both-sides [vulgar term]-objectivity meter it’s a victory to make both conservatives and feminists livid. It’s actually coming across as truly bizarre ineptitude.”
