President Trump on Tuesday, Sept. 24 blasted House Democrats for their efforts to impeach him while he was at United Nations General Assembly.

“Such an important day at the United Nations, so much work and so much success, and the Democrats purposely had to ruin and demean it with more breaking news Witch Hunt garbage. So bad for our Count,” he tweeted.

The president made the comment right after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) officially announced the formal impeachment proceedings against him.

“The actions of the Trump presidency revealed the dishonorable fact of the president’s betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security, and betrayal of the integrity of our elections,” Pelosi said.

The impeachment proceedings from House Democrats follows the whistleblower incident revealing a conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky where Trump allegedly pressed Zelensky to investigate the business of Democratic front-runner Joe Biden.

President Trump denied the allegations, saying it was a proper call, though admitting that he mentioned Joe Biden in the call but did not put any pressure on Zelensky.

“They never even saw the transcript of the call. A total Witch Hunt!” Trump tweeted.

The president also authorized the release of the transcript of the phone call between him and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday.

“Secretary of State Pompeo received permission from Ukraine Government to release the transcript of the telephone call I had with their President. They don’t know either what the big deal is. A total Witch Hunt Scam by the Democrats!” Trump tweeted.

Earlier, before the impeachment inquiry, Trump told reporters that “If [Pelosi] does that, they all say that’s a positive for me in the election.”
