Popular Fox News reporter Tucker Carlson said Wednesday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is an “unapologetic bigot” who he accuses of being a racist.

In a monologue in his Wednesday program, Carlson highlighted some words Ocasio-Cortez delivered during a congressional hearing last week in which she specifically blamed white people for climate change.

Ocasio-Cortez was questioning a witness during the hearing on climate change, an issue that is a priority for the Democrat, the main driving force behind the markedly socialist Green New Deal project.

“Do we see to a large extent that it is the global south and communities of color that may be most affected by the initial ravages of climate change,” AOC asked the witness, supposedly an expert.

“And in terms of that wealth, the people who are producing climate change, the people responsible for the most emissions, or communities or corporations, tend to be predominantly white, right?” continued AOC in a question that contained a racist assertion.

According to Carlson, this is a sign of the intolerance by Ocasio-Cortez: “The people wrecking the world are all of one race. Who talks like that? In fact, it’s hard to think of anyone in American life saying anything that disgusting and foolish and dangerous.”

“This is an ominous development for this country. Talk like this will destroy us,” Carlson said.

The “dark side” of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

The Fox journalist assured that there is “a dark side of AOC that has nothing to do with the Green New Deal.”

“She is an unapologetic bigot, someone who attacks others for the way they were born,” Carlson said.

“There’s nothing legitimate about that. You can’t debate bigotry, it’s pure poison,” Carlson added.

The journalist said it’s terrifying to think that someone so intolerant has become a point of reference for young people, “and that’s exactly what has happened,” Carlson laments.

Carlson recalled that Ocasio-Cortez used racism to campaign against her opponent in last year’s congressional elections, who she felt was not the right skin color.

When he reproached her for turning the election around on race, Ocasio-Cortez responded openly, “It’s about race,” Carlson said, pointing out that not long ago those racist claims would have been severely criticized by the media.

“It’s not like that anymore. Racism, they have decided cuts only one way,” Carlson said.

“[The media] ignored Ocasio-Cortez’s race baiting and she got elected,” according to the journalist, like “any untreated virus,” her bigotry, as well as the impunity with which she speaks, has grown even more intense.

Carlson criticized the fact that no media has paid any attention to the racist claims of AOC and yet they crucify President Donald Trump who has never made any statements justifying the harassment.

“For all the hysteria that you hear about how the president is a racist, Donald Trump has never said anything close to that. Nothing close to it as bigoted and vicious as that,” Carlson said.

“Keep saying what you think is true. Keep taking jabs at the establishment in Washington,” Carlson encouraged Ocasio-Cortez. “Even those of us who disagree with you will cheer you on,” he added.

“But my gosh, please, for the sake of the country and the children you don’t yet have, please stop attacking people for the color of their skin. They can’t change who they are and neither can you,” he added.

“We all have to live here together anyway, and we won’t be able to if you keep this up,” Carlson concluded.
