Sen. John Kennedy, Republican from Los Angeles, once again captured the attention of the American people with another of his unexpected interventions.

After criticizing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi( Calif.),  Kennedy made some witty comments about the controversial death of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was found lifeless amid a succession of irregularities.

At a hearing, Kennedy told the director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Kathleen Hawk Sawyer, that more and more Americans believe the 66-year-old convicted pedophile did not take his own life, as New York officials said.

This statement also coincides with what forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden said in an interview with “Fox & Friends” who described Epstein’s body as showing signs of homicide, despite the official decision that he had committed suicide.

Kennedy’s Intervention

“Christmas ornaments, drywall and Jerry Epstein. Name three things that don’t hang themselves,” Kennedy said, misstating Epstein’s first name as Jerry. “That is what the American people think.”

“That’s what the American people think, and they deserve some answers. I know that you’re not in charge of these investigations, but you talk to the people who are. And I need you to take a very respectful message today,” he added.

“Tell the American people what happened. And don’t rush it so that they don’t do a thorough investigation,” Kennedy continued. “But you and I both know they can make this a top priority and get this done more quickly than they normally would. They need to do that. And I’d like you to deliver that message,” he concluded.

Goal: ‘To silence Jeffrey Epstein’

At a previous hearing, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), lamented how Epstein died “before he had a chance to testify about his crimes, about his wrongdoings and about the other powerful men who were complicit in that sexual abuse,” Fox News quoted.

“That was a moment that shocked this country,” Cruz said. “There were powerful men who wanted Jeffrey Epstein silenced,” he said after the chief of prisons admitted that the FBI was investigating the possibility that Epstein had been murdered.

Kennedy also became a media target earlier this month when he attacked Pelosi at President Trump’s campaign rally in Louisiana, according to the Washington Examiner.

“In three short years, President Trump has doubled the growth in the greatest economy in all of human history. And do you know what our Democratic friends have done for him?” Kennedy asked. “Speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying to impeach him.”

“I don’t mean any disrespect, but it must suck to be that dumb,” Kennedy added, provoking the laughter of those attending the rally.
