A controversial Democrat wants the country to spend more time and money on investigating what he calls the president’s complete inability to roll out a pandemic rescue package.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has demanded multiple oversight hearings to investigate why the Trump administration made little progress on implementing Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus relief legislation.

Schumer blamed President Donald Trump for state legislatures experiencing technical difficulties in processing stimulus payments to Americans.

“Call in the Treasury Secretary and the Small Business Administration Administrator —why after 30 days we passed the first COVID bill are the computers breaking down?” he told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” He continued, “Where was the extra support? Where are the personnel? So we could have oversight hearings and I hope Leader McConnell will do that.”

Schumer, who led a lengthy trial in Congress that failed to find any real grounds for impeachment, believes it is his duty to call another inquiry into the CCP Virus relief packages.

“We have an obligation to the American people to do oversight,” he said. “Call these people before the Congress and Senate, have these hearings be publicized and this will enable them to ask tough question after tough question, not to the president or vice president who attack the reporter who asked the question and move on. This is part of what the Constitution told Congress to do, oversight of the executive branch.”

Schumer admitted he has no power to call any oversight hearing and the decision rests solely with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

“This could be the opportunity for leader McConnell when we come back to do something real that affects the American people in the midst of this awful crisis,” Schumer said. “I am sending a letter with my Democratic ranking members and leaders today to McConnell and saying what we should do now that we are coming back next week is have hearings, oversight. Call in Dr. [Deborah] Birx, Dr. [Anthony] Fauci, [and Alex] Azar, and say ‘Why is not testing working?'”

The president revealed some CCP Virus relief payments have been delayed due to the Democrats playing party politics instead of focusing on delivering assistance as soon as possible.

“Blame the Democrats for any ‘lateness’ in your enhanced unemployment insurance,” he said on Twitter. “I wanted the money to be paid directly, they insisted it be paid by states for distribution. I told them this would happen, especially with many states which have old computers.”
