Former President Donald Trump could have the nomination from the Republican Party if he decides to run in the 2024 elections and could retake the White House if he runs “a disciplined campaign,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said.
Appearing on “Hannity” on Wednesday, Dec. 29, Graham said that Trump has another chance as he got support from the Republican base and because of “the flaws of the Biden agenda.”
“Unless there’s something coming out of left field I don’t see coming, it’s his nomination if he wants it,” Graham said.
“The Republican base appreciated him. We don’t appreciate all the things he does sometimes. But from a policy point of view, he was the most successful president from a conservative’s point of view since Ronald Reagan,” he told guest host Pete Hegseth.
“[Trump] will be in the White House in 2024 if he runs a disciplined campaign,” Graham added.
To win the elections, the Republican senator hinted that the former president should remind the American people that he had secured the border and destroyed ISIS, among other achievements.
Meanwhile, the Republican lawmakers should talk about Trump’s successes on the border, ISIS, Afghanistan, energy independence every day during their elections.
Graham said that if Republican Party members focus on the “America First” message to get it through to Americans, the mid-term elections in 2022 will be “a blowout year” for them in both the House and the Senate.
In addition, the Democrats’ failures would also provide a helping hand to Trump.
“I’m looking for an America-first agenda led by Donald Trump that we can run on as a team and point out the flaws of the Biden agenda,” Graham said.
“We will clean their clock. In 1994, we won 73 seats to take over … the House for the first time in 40 years. If we play our cards right, we will exceed that,” he said.
According to the South Carolina lawmaker, President Joe Biden—who gets stuck between the radical left and the more moderate wing of his party, is failing on every front.
In terms of national policies, Graham said that Biden could not make a dent in cleaning up the border because the left will not allow him to. Biden also has a conundrum with the left on expanding drilling for oil and natural gas for the same reason.
In terms of foreign policy, Biden is not handling the issues well.
“When it comes to foreign policy, is not a left problem. He’s just incompetent. He’s been wrong on about everything for 40 years,” Graham said, pointing out that “Radical Islam is on the rise and raging in Afghanistan, and you have an open southern border.”
“If something doesn’t change, 2022 could be the most dangerous year for America since 1939 and the world at large,” he added.
