Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) may not agree with everything the president says, but he does approve of the way he is getting the job done, and says President Trump has crushed the Democrats.

“I think Donald Trump has broken the Democratic Party,” Cruz said on ABC News “This Week With George Stephanopoulos.” “They are defined now just by hating him. They ought to be the party of jobs. They used to be a party focused on jobs. They’re not anymore.”

Commenting on the third Democratic debate in Houston on Sept. 12., Cruz said, “Thursday night was a very bad night for the Democrats. I think Thursday night the Democrats galloped even further to the left … not a single Democrat talked about jobs. Not a single Democrat talked about the economy, about the fact that we’ve got the lowest African-American unemployment ever recorded.”

“Instead what they told the American people they want to raise your taxes, they want to triple the price you pay for a gallon of gas at the tax—at the pump, they want open borders, they want to take away your health insurance and they want to take away your guns,” reported the Daily Caller.

A call for the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, after he was accused of sexual impropriety, was announced by Democratic Party presidential candidates Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Beto O’Rourke, and Julian Castro on Sunday, Sept. 15.

The call arose after a new, unsubstantiated and disputed claim of sexual misconduct was written up in an New York Times article, which highlighted the accusation of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh by Deborah Ramirez. The president, in defense of Kavanaugh, suggested in a tweet on Tuesday that the New York Times should close their doors.

The senator was asked about the recent accusations of sexual impropriety against Kavanaugh. “At the end of the day, it’s The New York Times just being bitter enders. I bet you the next Democratic debate, they’ll all be saying impeach Kavanaugh, impeach Trump. There’s nobody they don’t want to impeach and at some point, they just have to let the anger go and recognize that the democratic process actually moves on. And I think it’s time for them to do that,” he said, reported The Hill.

“I think this article just shows the obsession with the far left with trying to smear Justice Kavanaugh by going 30 years back with anonymous sources,” Cruz said. “It really is another sign of how nasty and divided the time is today.”

The New York Times quickly updated its previous article: “An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party,” the correction said. “The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.”
