Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Monday, June 15, criticized President Donald Trump for planning campaign rallies amid the CCP Virus (coronavirus) pandemic, accusing the president of indifference to his supporters getting infected.

“He is planning big campaign rallies, asking [supporters], amazingly, to sign waivers not to sue if they contract COVID from attending. I guess he worries that they might get it, but he doesn’t care, wants to have his rally. That’s the superficiality of this president,” Schumer said during a speech on the Senate floor, reported Breitbart.

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale on Monday said they have received more than 1 million ticket requests for the rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday. He said that each of the attendees will be given masks and a temperature check before entering the rally.

Hillary Clinton also offered criticism over the Trump campaign’s liability waiver, suggesting the the president should not be holding rallies at all.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) blasted the Trump campaign, saying the event could be “extremely dangerous” for people in attendance while staying silent on widespread protests following the death of George Floyd.

The president “has shown no concern for the safety and wellbeing of Americans for the entirety of his presidency,” DNC spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said in a statement to Fox News. “He is only concerned about his own reelection and distracting from his failed response to the pandemic that led to more than a hundred thousand Americans dying and 20 million unemployed.”

The mainstream media also displayed their double standard on mass gatherings when it comes to the president’s rallies.

President Trump slammed the media for attempting to “COVID Shame” him ahead of the rally.

“The Far Left Fake News Media, which had no Covid problem with the Rioters & Looters destroying Democrat run cities, is trying to Covid Shame us on our big Rallies,” the president tweeted. “Won’t work!”
