President Donald Trump’s former press secretary blasted mainstream media for ignoring a recent interview featuring former Vice President Joe Biden. He likened a reporter’s question about a cognitive test for him asking the reporter if he’s “a junkie.”

“Can you imagine if @realDonaldTrump did that?” Sarah Huckabee Sanders asked. “The media wouldn’t talk about anything else. But when it’s Biden they just look the other way.”

During an interview scheduled to air Thursday, Aug. 6 at the convention of the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, stumbled to answer a question whether he had taken a test for cognitive decline.

Biden snapped at CBS correspondent Errol Barnett for asking such a question, claiming that it was similar to asking the interviewer if he was using cocaine.

“No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?” Biden said. “Come on, man. That’s like saying you—before you got on this program, you take a test where you’re taking cocaine or not. What do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?”

Biden has long bristled at claims that he is mentally slowing but his frequent verbal gaffes have raised concerns over his stamina to serve as the nation’s commander in chief.

Just last month, Biden slipped over his tongue during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania, saying that 120 million people had died from the CCP Virus (coronavirus) pandemic. There were more than 122,000 deaths in the United States at the time of the interview, according to Johns Hopkins figures.

President Trump in July said Biden should take the cognitive test as he did because the presidency requires “stamina” and “mental health.”

“Because I can tell you President Xi [Jinping of China] is sharp, [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin is sharp, [Turkish President Recep] Erdogan is sharp. You don’t have any non-sharp people that you’re dealing with,” the president told Fox News medical contributor, Dr. Marc Siegel.

In June, Biden was asked about the same issue by Fox News’s Doug McKelway, he responded that he’s “been tested and I’m constantly tested.”
