Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), a member of House Judiciary Committee, showed Democrats what is really vital to the American people after House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said, “Nothing is more urgent” than impeachment.

The House Judiciary Committee convened Monday, Dec. 8, to formally receive the investigative findings against President Donald Trump as Democrats pushed toward articles of impeachment.

Nadler pressed ahead with opening remarks saying, “President Trump put himself before country.”

Nadler showed his fear for 2020 election performance saying, “The integrity of our next election is at stake. Nothing could be more urgent.”

Gaetz reacted to Nadler by listing out the “things more urgent,” which need the House to pass, such as lowering drug prices for seniors, passing USMCA trade deal, raising pay for the military, rebuilding infrastructure, and passing a budget.

The hearing sets off a pivotal week as Democrats march toward a full House vote expected by Christmas. In drafting the articles of impeachment.

The White House refused to participate in the process it calls a sham, and the ranking member on the panel, Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) asked to postpone the hearing, criticizing Democrats for moving too swiftly. One legal scholar testified last week it would be the quickest impeachment in modern history.

“This is just how desperate they are—desperately focused on impeaching this president,″ said Collins who accused the Democrats of unleashing thousands of pages of documents his side had no time to review before Monday’s session. ”This is a show. This is a farce. This is whatever you want to call it. The American people are having their tax dollars wasted on this impeachment of this president.”

At last week, Matt Gaetz grilled three of the four witnesses called by the Democrats to hearing about their past support for Democratic candidates and their past writings and statements about President Donald Trump and the standards by which he might be impeached.

When Gaetz requested the witnesses raise their hands if they had direct fact knowledge of anything in the Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s impeachment report, no one did.

“Let’s see if we can get into the facts. To all of the witnesses. If you have personal knowledge of a single material fact in the Schiff report, please raise your hand,” Gaetz asked.
