Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) blamed the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), for lying and publishing “cherry-picked leaks” in the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

“Something that I find outrageous is the cherry-picked leaks, the withholding of key facts, and the lying about other claims that’s misleading the American public,” Zeldin told host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” in an interview Sunday, Oct. 13.

Zeldin said Schiff is running a “kind of flying by the seat of your pants type process.”

“There should be a process, but instead what Adam Schiff wants is to get the United States of America drunk on his favorite cocktail,” Zeldin said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.“ “There’s three ingredients: One is cherry-picking leaks, second is withholding facts, and three is just outright lying.”

He said Schiff will not release the transcripts of the former U.S. envoy to Ukraine, Kurt Volker, and the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, who both testified to House committee this month behind closed doors.

“Why are we sitting inside of Adam Schiff’s bunker turning in our cellphones off before we come in and being told that nothing here can be told to the American public?” Zeldin asked.

Schiff indicated Sunday that the whistleblower at the heart of Democrats’ impeachment inquiry against President Trump might not testify over concerns about the person’s safety.

Zeldin also criticized Schiff’s treatment of the whistleblower who came forward with revelations regarding Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in which they discussed an investigation into Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

“The only thing the whistleblower has to add that’s new is information that frankly Adam Schiff and his staff don’t want us talking about,” he said.

During the discussion ABC host pushed Lee Zeldin to comment on President Trump’s discussion with the Ukrainian president on the Ukrainian connections to the illegal spying on his campaign in 2016 and on the topic of Hunter Biden’s promotion to the Burisma Board in Ukraine.

Rep. Lee Zeldin responded: “I absolutely believe our country should be working together to get to the bottom of what happened whether it is Burisma, it’s Joe Biden, it’s Zlochevsky, or it’s Hunter Biden. There shouldn’t be an immunity from scrutiny just because Joe Biden is running for president.”
