President Trump tweeted on Wednesday, Oct. 9, that a majority of Americans do not want President Donald Trump to be impeached. He also said that this number is pretty low compared to the amount of fake news coverage and the fact that he did not do anything wrong.
“Only 25 percent want the President Impeached, which is pretty low considering the volume of Fake News coverage, but pretty high considering the fact that I did NOTHING wrong. It is all just a continuation of the greatest Scam and Witch Hunt in the history of our Country!” President Trump tweeted.
His supporters were quick to back him, with replies posts reading:
Yesterday, House Democrats were informed by the Trump administration that the president refuses to comply with their “illegitimate proceedings,” regarding the impeachment inquiry, reported Daily Wire.
In a statement, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham wrote: “The President has done nothing wrong, and the Democrats know it. For purely political reasons, the Democrats have decided their desire to overturn the outcome of the 2016 election allows them to conduct a so-called impeachment inquiry that ignores the fundamental rights guaranteed to every American. These partisan proceedings are an affront to the Constitution—as they are being held behind closed doors and deny the President the right to call witnesses, to cross-examine witnesses, to have access to evidence, and many other basic rights.”
