A multinational pay television broadcaster incorrectly cited remarks from a top bureaucrat that the deadly Asian virus would return stronger than ever, the head of U.S. government said.

President Donald Trump caught CNN reporting completely misleading comments from the federally funded Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus pandemic.

CNN political journalist Caroline Kelly and producer Jen Christensen had indicated the CCP Virus would return at the end of the year and be even worse than the first wave. However, CDC responded by releasing a new statement saying this was false.

“CDC Director was totally misquoted by Fake News @CNN on COVID-19,” the president said on Twitter. “He will be putting out a statement.”

The head of the CDC revealed he actually said the situation could be further complicated by the usual influenza season starting at the same time the nation was trying to contain the CCP Virus.

“It could be more difficult, more complicated when we had two respiratory illnesses circulating at the same time, influenza and the coronavirus,” Director Robert Redfield said according to CNN.

He rejected CNN’s conclusion that the pandemic would worsen.

“I did not say this was going to be worse,” he said. “I said it was going to be more more difficult and potentially complicated because we will have flu and coronavirus circulating at the same time.”

The CDC hopes the Trump administration will not lift social distancing restrictions too soon.

“I want to emphasize we continue to build the nation’s public health infrastructure to ensure that we have the capacity to stay in the containment mode,” Redfield said.

The president previously accused CNN of reporting falsely about him self-isolating at the White House due to the CCP Virus.

“I hear that Fake News CNN just reported that I am isolated in the White House, wondering out loud, ‘when will life return to normal,'” he said on Twitter. “Does anybody really believe that? There was no leak, they made it up—they are corrupt and Fake News….”

He suggested the broadcaster prematurely jumped to its conclusion that he was affected by the CCP Virus because he was busy working on containing the disease and could not be reached for a whole day.

“I have been packed all day with meetings, I have no time for stupidity,” he said on Twitter. “We are working around the clock to KEEP AMERICA SAFE.”

The broadcaster did not apologize for its error and instead responded to the president’s remarks on social media by demanding medical supplies for primary health care workers and the general public.

“The public needs tests, the sick need ventilators, health care workers need personal protective equipment,” CNN anchor Jake Tapper said on Twitter.
