President Donald Trump urged North Carolina voters to “take the first steps” toward removing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and “winning the back the House in 2020.”

“Tomorrow, we take the first steps to firing Speaker Pelosi and winning back the House in 2020,” Trump said. “We need everybody to get your friends, get your family, and get your neighbors and get out and vote for Dan Bishop.”

The president warned local people that a vote for Democrats would lead to the destruction of the American dream, either in the local special election on Tuesday or in the upcoming presidential elections in 2020.

“You must never forget that the 2020 election is about one thing,” President Trump said. “You. It’s true. It’s not about me. It’s about you. It’s about your family, your future, and the fate of your country.”

The president said a vote for any Democrat in 2020 is “a vote for the rise of radical socialism and the destruction of the American dream.”

“Democrats are now the party of high taxes, high crime, open borders, late term abortion, and socialism,” he said about about 50 minutes into the rally. “They’re socialists.”

“The Republican Party is the party of the American worker, the American family, and the American dream. Every day, we’re making good on the motto ‘promises made, promises kept,’” he added. “In fact, we are keeping even more promises by far than we made or that we promised.”

President Trump also emphasized immigration issues. He told supporters at the campaign rally in Fayetteville that “to protect your family, you must defeat open borders.”

Trump touted Bishop as an ally in Congress, warning that a vote for the “other Dan,” Democrat Dan McCready, was a vote for open borders, sanctuary counties, and to take away gun rights, according to Breitbart.

“Our great Republican candidate Dan Bishop will fight with everything he has to stop sanctuary cities and defend the people of this great state,” Trump said.

Former Vice President Mike Pence was also in the state campaigning for Bishop and spoke at the president’s rally.

“He’s the right man, he’s the right Dan, he’s a principled conservative and we need North Carolina 9 to vote to send Bishop to Washington, D.C., in tomorrow’s special election,” Pence said. “Let’s make it happen.”
