Democrats, who control the White House, claimed one Minnesotan found guilty of murder proves prejudice against people belonging to another race exists.
The Joe Biden administration declared Derek Chauvin’s guilty verdict as conclusive evidence of systemic racism.
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris repeatedly criticized Chauvin after the jury decided the former Minneapolis police officer had killed George Floyd while protecting and serving the Twin Cities.
“It was a murder in the full light of day, and it ripped the blinders off for the whole world to see the systemic racism,” the president said in a statement.
Biden portrayed Chauvin using force to restrain what he believed to be a disorderly suspect as nationwide repression of African Americans.
“The systemic racism that is a stain our nation’s soul; the knee on the neck of justice for black Americans; the profound fear and trauma, the pain, the exhaustion that black and brown Americans experience every single day,” he said. “Enough, enough, enough of the senseless killings.”
The Democrat suggested his administration was partly responsible for lobbying Hennepin County Courthouse to find Chauvin guilty of third-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter, and second-degree unintentional murder. The 45-year-old defendant was also refused bail.
“[The] verdict is a step forward,” he said. “I just spoke with the governor of Minnesota, [Tim Walz], who thanked me for the close work with his team.”
Biden called on judicial representatives across the nation to find more police officers guilty of murdering African Americans.
“Let us also be clear that such a verdict is also much too rare,” he said. “[I want more] officers standing up and testifying against a fellow officer instead of just closing ranks, which should be commended; [and] a jury who heard the evidence, carried out their civic duty … under extraordinary pressure.”
He claimed guilty verdicts were necessary to make law enforcement officials answer for their actions.
“For so many, it feels like it took all of that for the judicial system to deliver a just–just basic accountability,” he said.
However, Biden still refuses to take responsibility for thousands of foreigners who illegally entered the country since he was inaugurated on Jan. 20.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis believes the Democratic Party does not want to admit its policy of keeping illegal aliens in the United States failed.
“It starts with him [President Biden], of course, dismantling Trump’s policies to stop the flow of the illegal migrants across the southern border,” he said in a video shared on YouTube. “What Donald Trump did worked; it was working. Joe Biden dismantled that, and now you have a huge catastrophe at the southern border.”
The governor is concerned about speculation the Biden administration postponed both official and press visits to the southern border.
“That is going to have reverberations all across our country,” he said. “I think from really top to bottom Biden has failed on dealing with illegal immigration and rule of law.”
The Republican suggested Biden and Harris should have put fellow Americans at the top of the national agenda because public safety is likely to worsen due to their inability to admit fault.
“When you talk about the issues of releasing convicted criminal aliens into American communities, there is, unfortunately, going to be additional victims,” he said. “That is just totally unacceptable.”
