Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was incredulous that the first witness called to testify against President Trump in the impeachment inquiry was the acting Ambassador to Ukraine William B. Taylor Jr. Here was a man who had no firsthand knowledge of the phone conversation between President Trump and the Ukrainian President; it was only hearsay.

“I’ve seen church prayer chains that are easier to understand than this,” Jordan said.

Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the ranking member of the Committee on Oversight Reform, and an ally of President Donald Trump, speaks to reporters after witnesses defied a subpoena to appear before House impeachment investigators following Trump’s orders not to cooperate with the probe, in Washington, on Nov. 4, 2019. Taylor admitted during his testimony; he was just there to pass on secondhand information.

With his questioning, Jordan established that Taylor had met with President Zelenskiy three times over 55 days, after President Trump’s July 25 phone conversation with the Ukrainian president, and not once did President Zelenskiy mention military aid had been delayed. And neither did the president announce publicly or in private, there was an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden or his son Hunter’s business dealings with Ukraine.

Jordan also uncovered the complicated way Taylor had heard that Sondland claimed there was a “quid pro quo.”

“You’re their [Democrats’] star witness,” said Jordan, to which Taylor replied he didn’t consider himself to be. “Let me just say, I don’t consider myself a star witness for anything,” he eventually said.

To which Jordan replied, “You don’t, they do,” pointing toward Schiff.

Meanwhile, Schiff had a hard time controlling the proceedings, attempting to stop Jordan from interrupting Taylor. Eventually, Taylor admitted, “My understanding is only coming from people that I talked to,” he said, confirming he was pushing nothing but hearsay, reports BPR.

Moments ago Rep. Steve Scalise tweeted:
The Dems’ star witness got all his info 2nd or 3rd or 4th hand.
Today he was asked point-blank if the people he got that info from could’ve gotten it wrong. (Spoiler: they did)

His response? “People make mistakes.”
THIS is what Dems are basing impeachment off of? Unbelievable.
