Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a determined call for Americans to protect the Second Amendment, which guarantees the right to own and use guns.
In a video posted to his Twitter account on March 8, Pompeo recounts that he himself has been an advocate for Americans’ right to bear arms since he began serving the country as a soldier, then as a congressman supported by the NRA, then as director of the CIA, and finally as secretary of state alongside then President, Donald Trump.
“I want to be very clear, the threats to our Second Amendment cannot be overstated. Protecting these rights is absolutely essential to promoting American freedom,” Pompeo said.
He also shared that he occasionally practices shooting, along with his wife, on his family’s farm in Kansas, where he owns several properly licensed guns, in the same NRA video.

One of the biggest threats against the carrying and use of guns in the United States is the leftist agenda that fights it, and now the escalation of legislation to corner it has begun.
House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.), introduced a bill that would allow the FBI to detain a gun transaction for up to 30 days while it checks the buyer’s background, previously only three days, reported American Military News on March 2.
Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.), introduced another bill that would criminalize private sales of used guns even among family members, forcing those interested in the business to ask the government for permission.
These are just some measures of the Democrats against the Second Amendment, because the Biden administration, it seems, is preparing all the tools at its disposal to go against it.
On their agenda is the banning of assault weapons, or semi-automatic weapons and the so-called high-capacity magazines, or multiple round magazines, which is equivalent to all magazines.
They would also disable immunity for gun manufacturers, which would be a major blow to the industry, among other limitations according to the alternative media outlet Southern Maryland Online.
One Twitter user responded to Pompeo’s call by alluding to the complex international scenario, which several countries have recently fallen into precisely because their people lack guns, according to him.
“Do those who overlooked 2nd Amendment in United States realize what is happening on Earth?” asks user @noleast5.
He added, “In these 2 years, #Xinjiang#hk#Belarus#Thailand#Myanmar are under #PoliceBrutality. Civilians cannot resist dictator because they are not armed.”
“Who is next? Ones give up 2nd amendment,” this netizen emphasized.
