Attorney General William Barr released a summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s complete investigation report on Sunday. According to Barr, Mueller found there was no collusion between members of the presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump and the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election.

In addition to the finding of no collusion, there was no determination obstruction of justice in Mueller’s report, which was turned in Friday.

According to Barr’s summary review of Mueller’s report, Mueller hired 19 lawyers assisted by a team of approximately 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and other professional staff.

Mueller issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders of communications records, issued almost 50 orders authorizing the use of pen registers, made 13 requests for foreign governments for evidence, and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses.

There were a number of indictments and convictions of individuals and entities in connection with Mueller’s investigation.

Although in the report it was noted that the findings did not exonerate President Trump, Barr wrote that the report doesn’t recommend any further indictments, nor did Mueller obtain any sealed indictments that have yet to be made public.

By December of last year—after 16 months into the probe—Mueller’s investigation had already cost taxpayers over $25 million, according to CNBC.

President Trump Responds

Leaving Florida on his way back to Washington D.C., President Trump told reporters: “After a long look, after a long investigation, after so many people have been so badly hurt, after not looking at the other side, where a lot of bad things happened, a lot of horrible things happened, a lot of very bad things happened for our country, it was just announced there was no collusion with Russia.

“It’s a shame that our country had to go through this. To be honest, it’s a shame that your president has had to go through this. Before I even got elected it began.

“And it began illegally, and hopefully, somebody is going to look at the other side. This was an illegal takedown that failed, and hopefully, somebody is going to be looking at the other side. So it is complete exoneration. No collusion, no obstruction.”

On Twitter, President Trump wrote there was no collusion and no obstruction. According to FOXNews, for President Trump “who has tweeted over 230 times that he did not collude with Russians amid a torrent of allegations from media and political figures, the moment amounted to a near-total vindication.”
