Former United States ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Monday, Aug. 24, that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and the socialist left would pal around with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Iran, which would be a disaster. She, meanwhile, touted President Trump’s foreign policy agenda.
Speaking at the Republican National Convention (RNC), Haley compared what Biden under the Obama administration and President Trump have done for the United States.
“The U.N. is not for the faint of heart. It’s a place where dictators, murderers, and thieves denounce America and then put their hands out and demand that we pay their bills,” Haley said from the Mellon Auditorium in Washington.
“President Trump put an end to all of that,” she said. “With his leadership, we did what Barack Obama and Joe Biden refused to do. We stood up for America.”
Haley cited as example the Trump administration’s move to relocate the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, its decision to exit the Iran nuclear deal negotiated under President Obama, and the sanctions leveled on North Korea, while she cast Biden as the polar opposite.
“This president has a record of strength and success. The former vice president has a record of weakness and failure,” Haley said.
“Joe Biden is good for Iran and ISIS, great for Communist China,” she continued, adding that the Democratic presidential candidate is “a godsend to everyone who wants America to apologize, abstain, and abandon our values.”
Haley also attempted to tie Biden with the left wing, which is sowing “socialism” in the United States.
“Their vision for America is socialism and we know that socialism has failed everywhere,” she said. “Joe Biden and the socialist left would be a disaster for our economy. But President Trump is leading a new era of opportunity.”
Referring to claims of racism leveled against the Republicans and American institutions, Haley said that it is a lie that America is racist.
“In much of the Democratic Party, it’s now fashionable to say that America is racist. That is a lie. America is not a racist country,” she said.
“America is a story that’s a work in progress. Now is the time to build on that progress, and make America even freer, fairer, and better for everyone,” Haley said. “That’s why it’s tragic to see so much of the Democratic Party turn a blind eye toward riots and rage.”
Haley left her post as ambassador to the United Nations in 2018. But in an interview with Fox Business on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the former diplomat said that she would be open to returning to the Trump administration if he wins the November election.
