New York Democratic Rep.-elect Jamaal Bowman is the newest member of the Squad as he renews his call for police defunding, using the same discourse as leftist members of movements such as Black Lives Matter (BLM), who argue that some abuses and clumsiness of the police force could be corrected simply by defunding the institution.

Bowman used his Twitter account to call for a new defunding of the police. The request came after the Justice Department confirmed the release of federal charges against the police officers involved in the 2014 Tamir Rice shooting. His death became the symbol that gave rise to the leftist BLM movement.

“We’re fighting in your memory, Tamir. You won’t be forgotten,” Bowman tweeted.

“A system this cruel and inhumane can’t be reformed. Defund the police, and defund the system that’s terrorizing our communities,” he added.

Tamir’s death sparked the Black Lives Matter movement, which calls for extreme police defunding and then alleged reform of the institution. The movement, with the help of the media, the Big Techs and leftist indoctrination in the educational centers, gained thousands and thousands of followers throughout the country. BLM played a leading role in the summer protests of 2020 following the death of George Floyd, the black man who died after a confrontation with police officers in Minneapolis.

As is common on the left, they use a cause that may even be a valid claim, to push it to the extreme and seek to impose their agenda, which generally has nothing to do with the original claim. Such is the case with BLM, which uses the argument of racial equality and cases of police brutality to generate further division, hatred of the white race and tradition, and the defunding of the police system by causing chaos, insecurity and panic in the streets.

The BLM protests and the demand for alleged police repression during this last year have generated a fracture among the Democrats, forcing them to debate in Congress how possible police reform should be approached. The discussion led the centrist Democrats to blame the more progressive leaders for the Democratic Party’s losses in Congress in the November elections.

The most leftist wing within the Democratic Party, which includes The Squad members Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y), Rep. Rashida Talib (D-Mich.), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), have led the charge that points to a cut in funding for police resources and reform in the way funds are spent.

The Squad continues to move forward within the Democratic Party, now adding a new member, Bowman, who just won the election as a New York congressman. Marked by a socialist ideology and speeches related to “social justice” and “racial equality,” Bowman joined the group and began his public appearances reminding Joe Biden that he is indebted to black people across the country, Fox News reported.

“Joe Biden has pledged a $2 billion investment in environmental justice, and 40 percent of that has been committed to districts like mine across the country,” Bowman said.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said the “socialist wing” is currently leading the Democratic Party. His comments come after internal criticisms of the more radical positions within the “blue” party surfaced, in dialogue with Axios on HBO.

The renowned journalist Tucker Carlson, in his Sept. 10 Fox News broadcast, warned Americans about the dangers to society of this type of representative.

“Anarchism has many names. Right now, it is called antifa and BLM. They are working to bring down our country. That’s all we need to know,” Carlson emphasized in his speech, and recalled that these groups have the full support of Democratic members as the representatives of The Squad.
