Former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned that Biden’s return to the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) would jeopardize all U.S. human rights work.
“The UN Human Rights Council is a cesspool of political bias that makes a mockery of human rights,” Haley stated in one of her tweets on Jan. 25.
She added, “If Biden rejoins the council whose membership includes dictatorial regimes & some of the world’s worst human rights violators, it will fly in the face of our fight for human rights.”

Haley denounced the glaring contradiction at the UNHRC to the U.N. in 2018, as Townhall recalled.
“For too long the human rights council has been a protector of human rights abusers and a cesspool of political bias,” she said on that occasion, justifying her country’s rejection of the system’s corruption.
She added, “The world’s most inhumane regimes continue to escape scrutiny, and the council continues the politicizing and scapegoating of countries with positive human rights records in an attempt to distract from the abusers in their ranks,” in describing the incongruity.
Sitting on the UNHCR are countries such as North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan.
The council has approved some outrageous measures, including the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) crackdown in Hong Kong in July 2020.
At that time the CCP-driven UNHRC passed the law that stripped Hong Kong of autonomy gained through an international treaty, and annihilated the freedom that allowed Hong Kong to shine on the world stage.
“The mission of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is to work for the protection of all human rights for all people,” but the UNHCR vote denies the 7.5 million Hong Kongers the right to self-determination and instead endorses the violation of their rights.
Among the major human rights violations carried out by the CCP is the forced removal of organs for commercialization as one of the ways of violating the basic rights of people, particularly members of the ancient spiritual tradition practice of Falun Dafa, as documented by the specialized site Minghui.
Likewise, the internment of millions of members of the Muslim Uyghur ethnic group in concentration camps where they are enslaved, as well as the massive compulsory use of birth control methods to women, on such a scale that it is considered a “demographic genocide.”
Biden has demonstrated in his first five days in office his determination to deprive Americans of the benefits obtained by former President Donald Trump, for the country, and a strong tendency toward the implementation of the radical left agenda that characterizes the Democratic Party to which he belongs.
