A Democrat from California wants to expel one of the former president’s most vocal supporters from the House.

Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.) introduced a resolution to permanently remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) from Congress because she openly supported critical remarks about the Biden administration.

“I call on my House colleagues to support my resolution to immediately remove congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from this legislative body,” he said in a statement.

Gomez was furious about Greene’s social media interactions that positively responded to various posts, demanding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), former President Barack Obama, and other representatives face severe consequences for undermining the Trump administration.

The Democrat accused Greene of using her position in public office to behave both radically and disruptively. He urged the Republican  leadership to distance itself from their fellow party member.

“Her very presence in office represents a direct threat against the elected officials and staff who serve our government,” he said. “Such advocacy for extremism and sedition not only demands her immediate expulsion from Congress but it also merits strong and clear condemnation from all of her Republican colleagues, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.”

The remarks came after House Democrats spent several hours monitoring Greene’s Facebook and Twitter feeds and found many ideas that did not conform to the Democratic Party’s ideology of so-called social equality and equal opportunity.

Gomez could no longer tolerate political views that are different from his own and decided to take matters into his own hands. He believes silencing political dissent will make it easier for the Democrats to control Congress and introduce a more socialist-style of leadership.

Greene defended her behavior on social media, saying she was exercising her constitutional right to free speech and is merely a victim of political and mainstream media bullying.

“They are taking old Facebook posts from random users to try to cancel me and silence my voice,” she said on Twitter. “They are coming after me because I am a threat to their goal of Socialism. … they are coming after me because like President Trump, I will always defend our values. They want to take me out because I represent you, and they absolutely hate it.”

She stood by her conservative Republican beliefs and urged supporters to hold firm.

“Prepare for the smears, prepare for the attacks,” she said. “I will never back down to the enemy of the American people, and neither should you.”
