Former President Donald Trump has dropped a significant hint for 2024 on Wednesday night, June 30, when Fox News host Sean Hannity asked him about his plans for the next election.
Trump joined Hannity for an exclusive town hall from the southern border, where the former president said he has made the decision for the next two years.
“Let’s talk about your future plans,” Hannity began. “Now, let me ask the crowd of everybody here, would you like to see the president run again in 2024?”
His question was met with immediate cheers from the crowd.
Hannity then turned to Trump, “You are not going to answer, but I have to ask. Where are you in the process?” Hannity said, referring to whether he will decide to re-run for the White House again.
“Let me ask you this, without giving the answer, what the answer is. Have you made up your mind?” Hannity asked directly.
“Yes,” Trump responded with a smile.
The crowd erupted again with plenty of applause.
According to The Hill, Trump has been standing at top posts of multiple polls for Republican contenders for the 2024 election, but the public remain unsure if he chooses to run again.
In the interview, Hannity told Trump that, “If you move forward, you know how difficult it is, but you seem ready to reengage in that battle.”
“It’s not that I want to,” Trump replied.
“The country needs it. We have to take care of this country. I don’t want to, is this fun? Fighting constantly? Fighting always? I mean, the country, what we have done is so important,” Trump said.
There are several potential contenders for the Republican nomination, including former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
