Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley asked if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s commitment to protecting God’s creation extended to include babies.

On Thursday, Pelosi tweeted, “We have a moral responsibility to protect God’s creation for generations to come. That is why today, we named members to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. #ActOnClimate.”

Later, Haley replied, “Does God’s creation not include protecting babies as well Madame Speaker? A committee on that issue would be welcome.”

On Thursday, Pelosi announced nine Democratic members to the new Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, reported by AP.

Pelosi said Reps. Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico, Suzanne Bonamici of Oregon, Joe Neguse of Colorado, Donald McEachin of Virginia and Sean Casten of Illinois will serve on the panel, along with three Californians: Julia Brownley, Jared Huffman and Mike Levin. The panel will be chaired by Rep. Kathy Castor of Florida, who was chosen in December.

The Democratic Party has been under fire from pro-life advocates for recent abortion legislation signed into law by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and comments by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on the subject.

The “Reproductive Health Act” permits abortions up to the time of birth for the broadly termed ‘health’ of the mother and revokes the requirement for medical care for babies born alive after a failed abortion, according to the Liberty Counsel.

Under the guise of “protecting women’s health,” Democrats have proudly pledged their support for killing innocent babies at all stages of pregnancy and eliminating protections for those who have already been born, according to Heritage Action.

Jessica Anderson, vice president of Heritage Action, commented: “The vast majority of Americans view abortion as a tragic and difficult issue. In pushing their default position to the extreme left, liberals have turned their coalition into a death cult.”

President Donald Trump spoke to the issue during his State of the Union address earlier this week. He said: “To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking the Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb.”

“Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life. And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: all children — born and unborn — are made in the holy image of God,” he added.
