President Donald Trump’s endeavors to end the border crisis did not stop for a brief moment amid rising numbers of asylum-seekers flooding into the country, but Democrats’ desperate efforts to remove the president from office didn’t stop here, either.

According to a White House fact sheet issued Oct. 8, President Trump’s endeavors to confront the crisis is seeing significant results, where 52,546 illegal aliens were arrested or deemed inadmissible at the U.S.-Mexico border—the lowest numbers for any month in fiscal year (FY) 2019 and a decline of more than 60 percent from the high point in May 2019.

The White House also noted that despite the lack of congressional action in addressing the crisis, President Trump continued to reach out to other countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, to play their roles to help end the crisis.

President Trump, keeping his promise to Americans, has now 163 miles of new border wall under construction and 450 more miles expected to be completed by the end of the year 2020.

On the other hand, Democrats placed their focus on impeaching the president rather than addressing the larger issues at hand in an attempt to undercut President Trump’s efforts to solve real problems.

Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) denounced House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a Sept. 24 statement following her announcement of a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

“The power of impeachment was not designed to be a check on the electorate. But after two years of investigations failed to undo the 2016 election, Speaker Pelosi now calls for impeachment of the President of the United States, despite the fact that there are no ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ she can cite,” the statement said.

Scalise noted that Democrats are basing their claims against the president on secondhand information despite the Mueller report proving that there was no wrongdoing by President Trump.

“It’s pathetic and disgraceful that after the Mueller report showed there was no collusion, Speaker Pelosi continues to advance this impeachment witch hunt, now relying on unconfirmed, secondhand accusations,” the Republican whip pointed out.

“This sacred constitutional duty should not be abused as a charade to appease the radical left who still want to undo the results of the 2016 election,” Scalise’s statement said. “Pelosi’s Democrat majority has overreached yet again on their hatred of the President, rather than focusing on real problems facing American families, like lowering prescription drug costs and solving the crisis at the southern border. The American people deserve between than this disgraceful impeachment witch hunt.”

Six Republicans banded together amid Democrats’ frantic efforts to impeach the president to release an opinion piece on Fox News, to condemn the Democrats’ obsession with impeachment and turning a blind eye to border crisis.

Reps. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), Adrian Smith (R-Nebr.), Tim Walberg (R-Mich.), Ann Wagner (R-Miss.), Ross Spano (R-Fla.), Dan Bishop (R-N.C.) collectively stated, “House Democrats are so determined to undercut the president’s agenda that they refuse to recognize the national security vulnerabilities on our southwest border.”

“We saw these vulnerabilities firsthand as part of a trip last weekend to the Rio Grande Valley, the most trafficked part of the border,” the representatives wrote.

The representatives pointed out that although President Trump has fulfilled his promises and delivered results on limiting illegal aliens and reducing border apprehensions in recent months, they are “still stuck working with a broken system that only Congress can fix.”

“Regrettably, House Democrats have no interest in closing loopholes that smugglers, criminals, and cartels are abusing at the expense of vulnerable children and families,” they wrote.

“Now instead of working on a bipartisan basis to both secure the border and prevent a humanitarian crisis from happening again, House Democrats are focusing all their energy on trying to impeach the president,” the representatives wrote. “It’s shameful that they are putting a partisan exercise over our national security.”
